This was a week-long 'passion project' where I was able to produce anything I wanted, the choice was down to me. Therefore I decided to create a typeface inspired by embroidery stitch, my typeface is called ‘Flower Stitch’ the stitch shapes themselves that make up the letters are specifically inspired by an embroidery stitch called ‘Lazy Daisy’, the typeface is best used in large headlines as you can see in my book. I wanted to display my typeface in a conceptual and fitting way so I chose to display it in short guidebook to the different types of embroidery stitch. Each page includes an explanation and an illustration of each stitch. I have then bound the book using a technique called Japanese book binding which is also achieved by stitching.
